Duro Tapet - Högstatorpet - Green
The Högstatorpet wallpaper is dated to approximately 1870. It ties in very well with the mixture of styles of the late nineteenth century. The pattern is dense, the flowers are slightly chunky and associated with Rococo ornamentation. At this period, the colours were often muted and dark, with elements of gold.
The wallpaper that came to be known as Högstatorpet was found on the wall of a pantry. The tiny cottage was sited on a little hill in the middle of Vikbolandet in Östergötland.
The wallpaper industry industrialised in the late nineteenth century. New wallpaper factories were springing up and wallpapers became cheaper and more common even in simple homes and crofts. This was also when wallpapers came into the kitchen, which hadn’t been papered before. It became easier to update your wallpaper and people papered their walls more often. The people at Högstatorpet liked to redecorate. We can tell from the many layers of wallpaper on top of each other!
Paste it directly to the wall. This wallpaper is manufactured using eco-friendly production methods and can be washed using soap and water. The colours you see in product photos may not be exactly the same as the colours of the wallpapers themselves.
